Tigers Near Extinction

Save a Life

Wildlife Conservation: Wildlife needs protection because of ecological, cultural, economic and legal factors. Wildlife conservation has correlation with hydrological cycle, soil productivity, food and fodder. Wildlife- particularly endangered species need protection and management. Global Bio diversity is at risk, due to increased global demand for wildlife and its products. The changing market dynamics and the lifestyles demand more from the wilderness. The wildlife crimes are assuming organized status and the existing regulatory regimes are inadequate. There are many species in the earth facing endangerment, but Tiger is one of the Flagship Species going to be wiped off from its wilderness, if an eleventh hour efforts are not taken to arrest the factors leading to extinction. Hence the attention of the International Community is an urgent necessity. In the past century, populations of wild tigers have plummeted from 100,000 to 3500 globally..Tigers in India are in deep trouble, a little over 1400 tigers left in the wild.

In the previous section I covered the history of snakes, how they got to be what they are now. But what are they? How do they live their lives, where do they live? This is what I'll address in this section. Snakes have a long, narrow body. Their internal organs are made to fit their long and narrow body type. Snakes have only one functioning lung, so it's vital that their environment is clean and not polluted. An interesting fact to know; to find out how many "vertabreas" the snake has, you can count the number of belly scales. Usually there will be a new scale for each vertebrea. It's jaw is evolved so that the snake can swallow prey many times its size. The bottom part of the jaw is not locked together, as it is in most other animals, but it can be separated into two parts. This way its mouth can open up, swallow the prey, and then pull its jaw together again. When the snake does this, it looks like it's yawning, opening the mouth up wide and shutting it again.

Turtles having the most developed senses are aquatic turtles, since most of them are hunters. Turtles do not have great eyesight. They capture mainly a color spectrum ranging from orange to red, which explains their attraction to the fruits having these colors. They detect movements more than the forms, like other reptiles. Thus, they may detect motion through the vibrations of the water around them or ground for example. They also know, in some cases locate the heat zones with a certain acuity. They react also, in general, noise, suggesting rather that their hearing is fine. However, their sense of smell seems underdeveloped. Some turtles, sea turtles particularly, have a sense of direction pushed, which might be due to the presence of magnetite in their cells that make them sensitive to the Earth's magnetic field. Turtles have internal fertilization mode. Male brings spermatozoa directly in the genital area of the female. All species are oviparous without exception. The turtle proliferation rate depends on the species. Before couplings, there are usually fighting between males. Turtles practice different courtship that vary by species. The male turtles use their beaks and claws to cling to females and get better access to the cloaca. The pressure on the shell deforms the body of the female, showing more her neck on one side and the sink of the other.

Major new research into eagle taxonomy suggests that the important genera Aquila and Hieraaetus are not composed of nearest relatives, and it is likely that a reclassification of these genera will soon take place, with some species being moved to Lophaetus or Ictinaetus.[18] Bonelli's eagle and the African hawk-eagle have been moved from Hieraaetus to Aquila. Either the greater spotted eagle and lesser spotted eagle should move from Aquila to join the long-crested eagle in Lophaetus, or, perhaps better, all three of these species should move to Ictinaetus with the black eagle. The steppe eagle and tawny eagle, once thought to be conspecific, are not even each other's nearest relatives. • What Are Animals?

  • How many species of animals have been identified to date? The answer is close to two million and they are the most varied living thing on planet Earth. They have struggled to overcome tremendous obstacles, adapting their lifestyles in order to survive. They range from the animals that we all familiar with, big cats and birds of prey to the animals we have never heard of that live on the sea bed.

  • Animals are usually easy to distinguish from other forms of life because most of them have the ability to move. This rule works very well for most of the animals that live on the land but it is not always the case for those that live in water. Here they live in water and in some cases have trailing arms or tentacles that make them look like plants. A reliable way of identifying animals is by their basic biological features. Their bodies are composed of many cells and they have nerves and muscles that enable them to respond to the world around them. They get the energy that they need by taking in food.

The Best Panda Projects From East to West

Pandas are a sensitive issue from East to West as their numbers continue to decline, caused by the reduction of bamboo and deterioration of their home and environment. These majestic creatures pull at the heart strings of people all over the world and, as such, have been the subject of a number of original and thought-provoking projects over the years as human beings join the race to save the panda from extinction.
Here are some of the best panda projects from East to West:
Panda performers
Back in 2012, Chengdu Panda Base in China began Panda Awareness Week (PAW), which saw 108 giant pandas come to London. No, not actual giant pandas, but people in costumes in a move to raise the issue of conservation with Londoners all over the capital.
The initiative saw the panda costume-donning performers ride the London Underground, get involved in some tai-chi in Trafalgar Square and enjoy a panda party in Covent Garden, all in a bid to save their species from extinction and promote the plight of the majestic black and white mammal.
Papier-mache pop up pandas
Continuing in this vein, French artist Paulo Grangeon made 1,600 papier-mache pandas in 2014 with the support of the WWF, PMQ and creative studio. The project saw the artistic representations embark on a tour of 10 well-known Chinese landmarks, including Hong Kong airport and the giant Tian Tan Buddha as well as cities all over the world, including Paris and Rome, to raise awareness for the species and their fading numbers.
Panda pondering
In a less unusual project, the panda has even made it online where the saveapanda.com website looks to help the plight of the panda with the use of the far reaching World Wide Web. The website's aim is to establish a community of Panda Guardians in the UK who are committed to the protection of the Giant Panda and improving their chances of survival.
As a part of such work, people can join UK Ambassador for Sichuan Giant Pandas John Craven OBE on a dedicated panda volunteer tour and learn how to help the pandas first hand from Craven himself. With four ways to help save the pandas on the saveapanda.com website it is hoped that together we can help protect this magnificent species for the benefit of future generations.
So from people in panda suits to seeing them yourself first hand, these are just some of the best panda projects from East to West.
