The Power of the Serpent

The animals mentioned in the story of Adam and Eve, when taken allegorically symbolize our various physical aspects. Among them, we are told, the serpent was more "subtle": this is the smartest, wittiest.
This is not surprising. The snake was given many meanings in world mythology. It was a symbol of wisdom and a symbol of evil, a symbol of God and a symbol of the Devil. Their ability to shed its skin and be "reborn", was a symbol of resurrection and, therefore, a symbol of Christ. In correspondence with this association with birth and rebirth, it was a symbol of sexuality and a symbol of healing. He called the world of the senses and the spirit world. It rises into the sky as a phallic symbol, emblem of power, energy and lighting. Surrounding reality and swallows its own tail, indicating the integrity or the integrity and unity. He dives into the earth, eating dust and that means death. Therefore, as a symbol, the snake extends its infinite meaning "up" to "down" from the highest to the lowest.
We all remember the story of the serpent in the garden, but there are many other times in the Bible snakes. Consider, for example, this episode takes place towards the end of the day forty years in the wilderness. (We will approach the story as an allegory, symbolically describe what happens in the soul of a person):
Again, people "got nervous on the way, and the people spoke against God and Moses." But the latter is the last episode of the soul "whisper" against God.
This is the usual complaint: no water and no real food - only the spiritual manna that these humble elements could of course no longer stomach - and the desire to remain "low" and die in the desert.
The Lord heard their whispers and granted their request. He sent Seraphim, meaning fiery serpents against the people. "They bit the people and many Israelites died." These snakes, of course, represent the power of the serpent to its lowest on the scale of creation, where the serpent of Eden level "bite our heel." This is precisely how most of us dies, bitten by snake, venomous and hypnotized by the Kingdom of the materials, and die in a state of nonsense.
But some of the people came in desperation to Moses and asked him to intercede with the Lord. Moses, the soul level talking to God, "prayed for the people."
God told Moses to build a copper serpent and mount it on a high post, "What if someone is bitten look, be recovered." This supernatural decree is surprising. But after all, the serpent also represents the higher aspects of divine power of God. If the soul will open your inner eye and look at the snake instead of down, whether to focus on the 'top' and put their full and absolute trust in God, then he will be cured of the bite snake then he saw, and he will be able to continue their journey "home" to God.
Later, in the New Testament, Jesus refers to this same symbolism when he said: "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him shall have the eternal life. "dropoff window
He gives his disciples very good advice when he said, "Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."
